Reminds me of the Dixmont State Hospital safe :(

I love going into old buildings with so much history to them. I currently work in a building that used to be a hospital during world war 2. I have seen where the morgue used to be and it is so cool. you can actually stil see the lines on the wall as to where the doors used to be that held the bodies. I went down there a few times and actually caught an orb in action while TRYING to take a picture! Yeah it was freaky. I would love to talk to anyone who has been here and see how their experience was when they first saw the morgue

My mom and dad worked there for part of one summer while they were in college back in the late 1970's. My dad's mom also worked there for a bit at the same time and the few stories they told me are quite frightening. I don't know what area they worked in, but my mom told me that there were several times she was terrified of the patients. They would lose thier temper and sometimes hit the workers. She said she saw many patients that had to be sedated b/c of attacking another patient or a worker. My mom quit after working there for a few weeks after she saw another female employee badly attacked by a patient.

i doubt there are many homeless people that stay there b/c there are military gaurds and police that patrol the area b/c the property is now under military control. I know several friends that have had close calls with getting caught tresspassing on the property at night. I've seen some of the former patients of Pennhurst wandering around Royersford.

Motts - do you use LAB mode in photoshop to pull the colors? I'm studying this now and so far this looks like the best example of it. These photos are incredible and moving. I've always had this facination with the hospital. I went in to one of the "doctor's houses" a long while back. There were crazy paintings on the walls and there was a big pit going deep into the ground..from a tunnel I assume? anyway. Awesome.

I'm not positive, but it probably has to do with clearance of certain types of machinery that was run in here.

An "inside" perspective...

Going from the feeling of movement in the tunnel (previous picture) to an abrupt stop at the mesh door, and then the convenient hole cut by those before you. I feel like we're all on this adventure right along with you! Thanks.......
