My parents were in business with the Worth family. Bought them out in the 1950's. When the ranch closed and was later purchased by Jehovah' all structures were torn down nothing left but the land. Are you up the hill overlooking the church or are you north towards New Paltz and the firehouse?

Shallow

Well, I've spent the afternoon viewing photos and reading comments, thank you lynne. Today ,my sister and I visited the hill for the first time since our childhood. We never wanted to go back there. Wished we visited sooner. It is so very different now. Our father spent most of our growing up years at Hamp. We would visit him on tuesday in the day room. Many years we couldn't even visit him. That photo brought back memories. Some of the comments were heartfelt, others empty, ugly.. thank you Mott for these photos. I am going to researcdh photos taken in the 50's , when I used to visit my Dad.

How could you be so trite? That's serious disrespect to those who suffered & died there. Maybe if you were ever a victim of such treatment, then you would have the right. But since you know nothing of suffering...how dare you?!

back then they would go above and beyond when making things because thats what they thought they had to do. like the old chevys and fords and other cars were made of pure steel because they thought that was how to make a car strong

its a shame what happened to the place i mean if you look at that postcard and compare it to these pictures its devestating

I could be wrong but them look like heat sinks, you know like on a water cooled CPU in a computer. Water would run into one and out of it and the water would remove the heat from the side of it. Thats just what it looks like to me i could be wrong.

Great set Motts i've always loved your work! you inspired me to gout and buy a Nikon D40 and start heading to my own abandon places.

The amount of time Hitler used these areas was very minute. Than they were used for various reasons by the average German citizen and I am sure not all of them agreed with everything Hitler was doing.

I did some research and back in 2006 the state sold the property to lcc holding co. in Chicago ILL. for the sum of ten dollars. so Why in 2007 did the state appropriate over a million dollars for an environmental cleanup supposedly asbestose removal. so why is there still asbestos everywhere there? Where did the money go?
