a seemingly simple device but I'm curious about it's purpose. Notice the small hooks around the upper portion. Maybe to mobilize heavy medical equipment ; the hooks maybe for patient charts?

water damage - the water rotted the wood that let go of the mesh that held onto the plaster that was held together by the water or it would have crumbled otherwise and we never would have seen this scene unfold.

I'm imagining people coming into one of these rooms to find happiness or peace and seeing it as it is , it's really a shame places like this couldn't have been turned into government housing or places for the homeless. These rooms could still be serving a purpose.
