Another institution local to Pa, still in existence, is Elwyn, which also prides itself on teaching it students how to be more self sufficient. In the older days of Elwyn, they would have photos/ painting, etc, of the students/ residents, all over the campus, as they did chores, such as hanging clothes, kneeding dough, gardening and sewing. I think the skin coloring is varied in shade, and maybe misinterpreted.
