Tread lightly. That ceiling looks like it's about to go. Mr. Motts, when these buildings are abandoned, are the fire suppression systems deactivated? I was noticing those fire sprinkler heads in the ceiling.

Ugly but fascinating. The lack of an operational HVAC system & the presence of moisture & humidity will sure do a number on a building.

I wonder how many children gazed from these windows, day dreaming of their future, or a romantic crush on a fellow resident. I can picture a 14 or 15 year old school girl staring outside, tears flowing, because of an unkind word or false rumor by the other girls. I'm sure that teen angst was alive & well in the late 19th and early 20th century. I can also envision a lonely, confused little boy peering from these windows, missing his mother who, through no fault of hers, wound up on the streets & was unable to care for him. A thousand different stories must have unfolded behind those windows.

anti-vaccine crowd should take a tour through here and all should understand that instead of winding up tubed and then trached on a "bird" respirator they could still talk and communicate-- "tank"worked fine and saved many lives.

Looks like most of you been back to that place however i never returned after i walked out that door back in 90 or 91. from my research i came across some youtube videos of the place and after seeing everything left behind such as our files i sould of just came back there to get my records.
After all you been through there and being set free what is it that makes everyone go back in there after it being closed just a hang out or what? well for the people that have been there locked up when it was open and then closed has anyone grabed paper work old files my name is jody mcmillan.

Oh sure Fla. Gator. Makes perfect sense to me. There's a TV show on DIY Network called "If Walls Could Talk" and it deals with that very subject. They've done stories about home owners who have undergone a renovation to find hidden fireplaces, beautiful tin ceilings, hidden staircases, even letters from Civil War Solders.

they sell these at the Hot Topic store i work at. they are just candy blood. although it does have some of the same nutrients that real blood has, such as iron and whatnot. it even comes with instructions on how to warm it up to body temperature.
