My apologies i realized after posting that i came off sounding rude, and well i was wrong. The device is a valve positioner it monitors the position of control valve and compares it to the input signal from the pilot valve. Very cool pictures and great site been in this power plant several times and used to work for nissequogue river state park who now owns the property. Keep the great photos coming.

That is technically called a pilot valve, a device used to pneumatically measure and control a regulating valve. The photography is good however.

Now days inmates get flip-flops. Cheaper & safer. We won't discuss how I know this.
