That bed is so tiny...was this an area for children patients?

Seems the Italians know how to better paint their hospitals. That orange looks so much better to he eye than those ugly greens,blues,and pinks we use here in the states

It looks to me like a chair for a quadriplegic designed to keep them as upright and out of the slouched position as possible. it is hand pushed hence the smaller sized large wheels.

Natures version of carpeting

@ ferdy (Date unknown) Wheelchair. Red with small handles and fully movable foot rests. Needs some repairs done to the wheels and fabric may need to be washed or replaced.

That just has to be the most terrifying whellchair design Ive seen. It looks like some kind of torture device(and sadly,i bet it could have been to some)

Since this hasn't really been updated in a while.. Ill give everyone an update. As of August 13th 2012 they started knocking down building 23 ( the recreation building) which is right behind buildings 7, 21 and 22. They are also knocking down building 23 which was the oldest building on the lot and that house patients when it was open. A few other buildings are going to be knocked down as well, but they arent any buildings worth keeping ( warehouse, old stock house etc). 93 is not going to be knocked down, atleast not at the moment. Apparently the newest hangout over there is building 7 or as the kids call "the cube" and cops now frequent that spot, its also the easiest building to get into from what ive been told. I will be going back soon so hopefully i can have more to update everyone on. :)

Looking at that photo in the past,I never wouldve known those men were pysch patients,nor even in a hospital. They all look so...sane. And the picture gives off a social feel,like some sort of gentlemans lounge,I mean,look how clam they seem,not like the "rocking back and forth,mumbling to oneself" types you see in 60's and 70's

@ kathy Im sorry,but you posted 4 years too late to save it,but I dont belive any one even rasied a finger to save Byberry.

Kit, not if they were well sealed in plastic bags & those bags stayed tear or rip free. Such a waste, these could have been donated to daycares or preschools around the area at the time of this places closure or better yet, families in need, as there are always those around somewhere.
