I have read many stories of this place and it gives me chills and makes want to cry. I can not believe all things that have happened in that place it truley angers me. I truly hope that all pure souls in this terrible terrible place find peace even after all the cruel awful things that happened to them. I have ADHD and according to what I've read I would have been considered mentally disabled .

The two holes - how scary they are - to see someones eyes looking through those holes. It is worse than a little window, methinks.

It is perfect, the spiral stair case. And you picture is perfect. Center. Focus.

While it would have been a fire hazard, I agree with the idea that moving a large group in a single file may have been one of the reasons for this style.

I think it's just shadow, but it almost looks like a smoke stain over the little check door.

All the beautiful details in these buildings are a lost art in today's world of glass, concrete, and steel.

The glass above the door is interesting. I can't tell if it's colored or stained by mold or something else.

I enjoy reading the details that others see in these pictures.

I think the whole building needs to be saved.
