That is either quite thick concrete showing in the hole in the left wall, or a thick layer of plaster if the wall was made of plaster and lath.
Wonderful shot - for Mr. Motts to get down and shoot along at the level of the dials. Much more interesting than a standard shot!!
Perhaps a typical room? Looks smaller than a cheap motel room. Nice lighting and detail.
Great shot because of the timing to get the lighting just right. At other times, the doors would be hidden in the dark alcove.
How odd that they would have those black hooks also installed behind the rod - anything hung on the hooks would then be blocked by clothes hanging on the hangers.
A wonderful shot of some beautiful doors. I, too, do not know what POE is? Point of Entry?
Great reflection shot.
I think you're right Carolyn - you can see the metal bar going horizontally to the right. King Shan Yu that was the Our Lady of the Angles School fire.
Somehow this is creepier than the previous shot.
I agree, Tony C.
Wonderful use of light and angles.
Looks like a party hat. And look at the black mold on the ceiling.
The sink sitting in the ice is a nice detail.
From this view, you can see why they posted the Danger sign on the fence.
Fantastic, a new gallery. This photo is lovely, a wonderful perspective.
