They used to put lots of photos of patients into frames and display them on the wall. It would have been lost when the ward finally closed.
I worked at the hospital until it's closure. I still work at the secure mental health unit that was built on the old St John's Division. The old hospital has now all but been demolished. It will be no more by spring 2015. Thank you for the fantastic photos. I've been taking some myself Over the last few weeks but I have none of your skill.
Thanks for the great gallery Motts!
Nature is taking back what is hers. They look pretty there.
Place is really torn up.
Sorry WJ - don't know where I got flushed! I swear sometimes I belong in a home. Sorry!
That first step is a killer!
I have the right description and name flushed.
They had already lost all the architecture by the time they built this. It does look like a school!
LOL @ wanderer
How the heck did they manage to get up there to do that? and yes, obviously immature idiots
This room reminds me of an old abandoned nursing home I like to explore. Sent chills down my spine considering what I've witnessed in that place, brrrr
Love hallway shots!
There goes Mother Nature sneaking in again, reclaiming what's hers.
Man, those look scary! I bet they were scary when they were new
