I wouldn't doubt the family is still there in spirit.

Cool copy of the death mask--but what exactly is a death mask?
Love the whiteness of the tree in this exposure
I love this shot! The tarps almost take on a purplish hue on my computer. A haunting photo indeed!
What a waste!
Very detailed, ornate work. Such a shame it's rotting away.

Great gallery, thanx for posting as always. Several posted recently, good luck chipping away at the massive archive you have in the wings!

A constant reminder so she would always be with him? He felt she would watch over the place and the kids? Did he hear the faces talking to him? All of the above?

In this pic, that structure looks like it was getting ready to come down by itself. They would have had to save it at that point or much damage would have taken place when it all fell.

Radiator cover is my guess also. Quite a thick layer of fallen crap there. Why anyone would put in a false ceiling and hide that the awesome original stuff is beyond me.

I think that's where they kept the tavern apples.

Amazing heavy structural stuff. Must had taken a while for that to rot through and create a spectacular crash. Flying heads must had been flapping around frantically.

I hate when I get dive-bombed by flying heads.

Them flying heads with the wings on 'em are a scream! Do they fly around the place, diving and swooping? I hope they don't bite.

Great historical writeup. An amazing story. An effort similar to the Taj Mahal, just not on that scale. It's clear that the loss of Clement's wife was quite heartfelt for him. Sad that this tribute to her has not stood the test of time.
Just unreal how this place was left!

Hate drop ceilings, if that what it was
