WALLPAPER!

I love this one! My Husband is from Buffalo, and has all his family there. I think I saw this place (I am a huge old building lover) on one of our visits! In June of next year, I am going to take loads of pictures of this!

Jaw-dropping gorgeous, Motts!!!

Maybe the windows were to let light into the shower area? There aren't light fixtures above the showers."

I would have to agree with Cow...the windows appear to be opague/frosted.

Interesting!

What building is this? This is the only one I went into before the cops showed up and my friend and I had to hide. How can you tramp through the grounds during the day? Didn't the police show up? My friend and I had to go at night.

Phantom, I saw your stupid name spray painted all over the place when I visited. Now you admit to stealing from the place? must you vandalize? You should have some respect for all the people that suffered there. Go and visit and reflect, don't act like some stupid kid.
Is this the childrens building

Kelly, read my other post b4 u criticize me. do u have any brains at all? im 12 and im apperently more intelligent. think about this: the old movie REELS-not video tapes- that they were made on were just photos being switched fast, like a flipbook. you can just look at the pictures. and who said that the staff was smart? im not saying anyone that worked at Pennhurst was a complete dimwit or a total asshole, because i no that Cody's mom was the complete opposite. but, some staff members were.

Of course this place didn't look like it does in these photos, 18 years of neglect will make any hospital look pretty bad.

In any case, the description of the photo I put seemed like the best explanation I could give; it's difficult (even impossible) to figure out the story behind things like this when you were never there beforehand, so you can't be so harsh on people who are looking at this with only what we have - these photos.

NBC recently ran a story about Pennhurst today and back when "Suffer the Children" was aired: http://www.nbc10.com/videovault/index.html

Media sensationalism or the truth... here we go again with the same question.
This is the best picture !!!
I don't think you guys are looking in the right place, the face I am talking abou it in the lower right window, it is looking straight into the camera, you can clearly see the entire face but it is very goulish looking, it looks like he has one hand up as if to wave(?) perhaps. The other image is to the left of the face, kind of standing behind him, thats the one that everyone's saying has a red teeshirt on but I think thats an illusion made by the window pane. ......... but who knows.........
