Dead and lifeless... what a tragedy :-(
It's funny, the walls don't look fire-damaged (blackened and missing plaster, as is the norm with burned-out buildings). If I didn't know different I'd say this looks as though it has just caved in through neglect.
Well the set wouldn't be complete without one...
I don't see any doors, and the hinges suggest they've been removed for scrap - perhaps they were metal. More intriguing is that electrical trunking running along the top of the wall and down above each door. Private rooms with nurse call buttons perhaps? Lynne? :-)
Very Seventies, judging by the clothes and hair. I wonder if these were real people - staff or patients perhaps - or just a figment of someone's imagination? Sad to see it defaced in a place which is otherwise very clean.
And the composition of this is breathtaking.
This is a fantastic pic. I wish I had your eye Motts.
To me the lack of windows seems symbolic and marks the difference between a living building and the corpse which this one appears from a distance. It's as though her soul has fled; she has given up all her secrets and now merely awaits the final indignity with eyes that no longer see...
Check the bottom of your boot lol....
Good job there's no power in THIS place...
It's when you find fingernails in the plaster you need to worry :-/
Someone *really* wanted to get in there. Or out...
Glad I wasn't behind that when it went over. It looks like a movie set but I bet it's a good deal more solid. Looks like someone had a nice little office at the end of that corridor once. Talk about a room with a view...
It's a thingamyjig.
Nature has done a pretty good job of reclaiming it - I doubt there were 30-foot trees peeping above the walls when it was in use!
