There were many older patients *and young, but they were misdiagnosed or committed against their will and many of the old patients lived their entire lives in there. Women who suffered from depression after childbirth there lived and died there, it is sad. No wonder why so many houses are haunted in my town!

They did. And succeeded for a very long time.

TMPP, "thr nuts", yup. I didn't dare want to admit that we called it the nuthouse right?! Remember when there were so many patients in town that it started to get hard to tell who was who!

There is a full body apparition in the room. And also, those bars are pulled from the outside from people breaking in. Either to squat or teens partying.

Mr. Motts, most believe that the center is haunted. I would love to read all the pictures you have taken. I have noticed a few paranormnal photos already. I love the white mist in this one.

This picture reminds me of one of the abandoned buildings back when it was center was still open. We called it the war building and would hand out there. It was always creepy but it was fun. In the mid 80's there was this one Northport kid that would hang out there with his friends from KP. His name was Ricky Kasso (craziest eyes you ever saw!) He killed a kid named Gary in the woods in Northport. The book "Say You Love Satan" is about the killing. I remember how Ricky would spray paint his name and other things on the walls. The war building is gone now, was demolished. Ricky killed himself in prison.

No one was ever locked in the buidings to die nor were bodies threwn into fields. They were sent ib there way, many with no help but no one was locked away to die.

In high school, if a student volunteered in the hospital. I did for a while. An older womans ward. Why broke my heart was when they closed it, there were patients that had no where to go. What happened to them? They were left to die, heartbreaking. I would love to get live cams in some of the buildings and see what paranormal activity may be captured.

I live in Kings Park and when the center was still opened, many, many patients left the grounds and walked throughout town. We used to spend a lot of time in the abandoned buildings and underground tunnels as teens. We were also told that the center did not hold criminally insane and/or dangerous patients, well they lied. It have very strong energies. I am going to start taking night pics on the grounds, but the security is tight and dont know if I will be allowed around during night time. (I will anyway!!) OH, my father was the head Architect there before he passed away. It was the last job he had.

How do you do the subtle blue color tones? When I take color IR, it's red not blue. You do a color shift?
