Motts, you are creative to say the least! You make this place come alive, and I can feel what it could have been like in its heyday years. This has been an awesome adventure, and I did not even have to leave my home! Keep it up and bring more!

To the right of the stairs, could that possibly be a large arched window?

our showers at state hospital was more private with brick encasing and a shower curtain for privacy. the toilet stalls were also encased only no handles on the stall doors and centainly no locks. The bad part about the four shower stalls was, one only ran cold ice water, and never warm, and seems I always had to use the ice water shower...sure made me wake up in the mornings!

while I was at state hospital, I was threatened to be sent to what we call 310 which was the padded room. I always thought the padded room was only depicted in movies, not so, they are very real. We even had a small seclucion room just off the day room so that the nurses could keep watch over us. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety, and I would have psychoitic breaks and would have to be threatened either for 310 or leather restraints. This threat was what calmed me down many times as none wanted to be sent to 310 and being restrained to ones bed is not my idea of a good time...yipes!

I would like think...blood...because more thrilling! However, could it be that some kind of cabinet sat against the wall and it maybe rusted and left that mark...yet again, the "crazy" me like think...blood...whereas the sensible me think...object. hehe.

what were the material of the walls, etc...can a place like this burn down in case of fire, and what of the patients confined to this handless door rooms? if staff could not reach these souls in time, they would burn to death for no way out. Of course the state hospital where I was confined for a month, they locked us in our room from eleven at night until five in the morning. then they would lock us out of our room from five in morning to eleven in morning. I feared there may be a fire duing the night and I would have no way to escape, when I was confined.

I can see bars on the outside of the windows. I feel this is some kind of room where the patients could come to and relax while enjoying the sunshine through the windows. Vision a row of deck chairs or any other type chairs lined up against the wall. Another thing, it could be a walkway to get from one end of the ward to another end. I have seen this type of walkway between wards.

Maybe there is a sad ghost in that chair, waiting for the souls of those who have gone on to return, but alas, nevermore, nevermore!

The archway is so awesome as well as the reflection of light dancing in a downward motion. I can picture myself sitting in that sunny room, among other mental patients, maybe reading a grand old novel! What thrill!
