This area here is where the patients would sit..either in their wheelchairs or be assited to a couch or single chair to sit..look out of the window or listen to the tv...the room had plants on tables and pictures on the walls....wasnt a large room at all. but was very bright and airy

OMG I also remember this area....i used to push wheelchairs with patients in them to this area of the hospital...most would just sit there with a a stare on their faces...almost not even looking at anything at all..just so sad......i also remember hearing that MANY of the patients familys did not visit them as much as they once did........... :(

back in the early 80s i was a nurses aid In training at Broadacres but that didnt last too long ... the look in many of the patients eyes...soo sad and alone...broke my heart.... :(
