where are you based?
Many years ago, as a teenager, I passed the Glenn Dale Hospital on my way to the beaches. It wasn't until this past week that for some odd reason my youngest son, now 42, mentioned the hospital and that he and some friends had been in some of the buildings on Halloween. I guess this is a great thing to do. I would just love to tour the ruins. This evening my husband and I drove by it. It must have been beautiful in its time. As often as I drove by it I never gave it a thought until just last week. It would be nice if you could tour it.
Ozzy! T.A.P.S rocks, lol. Okay but im getting off topic, i really like this pic motts. It has that errie and creepy look to it. Lol, But it would seem all your pictures do. Can you imagen all the inmates that sall this?
this room couldn't be too "secure" -- the hinges are exposed on the inside of this room.
The state mental hospital I worked at didn't have any hinges exposed on either inside or outside of doors that were patient accessible.
My friends and I went there today trying to find the morgue, but we didn't get very far. We were in their with our flashlights and everything and we heard a huge "BANG!" like a door slam, so we bolted out of there, it was so scary. But, we're going back.
I was under the impression that a graveyard cannot be relocated until the last body has been laid to rest for 100 years. If that is indeed true, Danvers should be OK.
I think the creepy part of looking at these things is that for every name, every toothbrush, there are entire lives that are coupled with them. Entire familys which are intertwined with those lives... Unless these people were dumped at this place and forgotten forever, only to one day end up in one of its morgues. Sad really...
