An Autoclave is a pressure vessel, by it's very nature had to be built to withstand high temperature and pressure. Therefore would last a very long time in inert surroundings.

Neat window, reminds me of Victorian houses with round windows near the peak of a roofline.

My guess is it's a paper towel dispenser attached to the wall inside the room on the left, the handle makes the brim of the hat. further into the room some other unidentified object makes up the shoulder / neck area.

If one of those doors slammed shut behind me when I was there alone I would be going comando for the rest of the visit...
