....."mattress"....:-*....
JoniG--WAIT!! Don't swoon until we can rummage around in one of these storage rooms and find an old matress to put behind ya! (We'll try to find the least moldy one...;-))
...sorry, the words "whether it's a" should be in place of the word "whatever".
Always interesting to see a photo at a grave (whatever tomb, grave, urn, etc..). Puts a face to the name, and makes you even more "aware" of the fact that this was a real person. Sets me wondering what she was like, and what her life was like. So many millions of people born and gone before most of us now were even a twinkle in someone's eye. Great gallery, and nice change of pace. Thanks :-).
....oh GEEZ!!! here we go again. Once again, comments CAN be hidden, and, as mentioned, most ARE about the pictures. Including mine. I'd like to tell ya that I'll make an attempt at being very "dry, serious, and "to the point" , not allowing anything that might actually make someone crack a smile (wouldn't want THAT to happen), but in reality, probably not gonna happen.....sorry (said while crossing fingers behind back...;-)). (Hmm. always did like the term "unclench" ;-))
Quinnifer : :-*....Hmmm. Yes, of course it occurred to people, but I can see by looking that you're rather new to this site (unless you've used another name). So.....just a (the tiniest-bit sarcastic ;-)) "FYI" for ya : many posters here have been enjoying looking at and commenting on Mr. Mott's great photos here for a couple of years or more, and simply like to take a break from their otherwise busy lives to have a little fun while they enjoy the galleries. I'll let you in on a secret, even (BONUS!) : It isn't always serious :-D. In any case, I'll just smile at your unnecessary rudeness and let you continue speaking for yourself (psst!....BTW, putting little stars in there doesn't make using that word any more classy). If you'll notice, most comments are about the photos, and most people here are quite polite, actually. If you don't like reading the comments, there is a convenient button, "i", at the top to hide them. You have yourself a peachy- keen day now :-).
Van Gogo: lol. :-). Just needs some little gold-balled fringe around the edges....:-)..maybe some gold velvet cushions inside....."but seriously, folks"....;-)
(.....raking in the cookies.....:-) ). OK, now, the round windows just MAKE this :-), especially with their own compass-point stones.....Very nice.
Oh Oh OH!!! I WANT that around my front door!!!! Great composition, and perfect choice for B&W. Like the geometric quality, and the contrast between the vertical pilasters and the horizontal brick and windows.
Cleaned up a bit, I could sit out here in a rocking chair and drink a mint julep (or lemonade, or iced-tea....anyone care to join me? ;-) ). Love the collumns and the vanishing perspective.
OK, I know the gold paint HAD to be after-the fact, but that just looks WRONG!!!!!! Of course, I also find the arrangement of the tubs a bit odd, too. Motts, have you ever seen another place with FOUR tubs in the same room? I know you said "odd arangement" before, but, more than one?
(....runs to grab the POOK bucket to hold out for Lynne.....). Geez. I may have to use it myself!! :-p. "Unsettling" might be a good word. This one is similar to that other one in "The Other Ward" (last gallery). Very Alice In Wonderland-ey.
I agree. And I wouldn't want to go through that arched doorway into the dark beyond. Creepy. Nice skylights, though. Unusual in a large room like this. Hmmm. Unusual in most of these places, I guess....(?)
Yay!! TWO cookies (munches happily while typing......). I love how overgrown the outside is. Would love to have seen it (ummm, from the outside.....:-)) when it was open and functioning. Cool brick work.
This almost looks like an empty chapel...in shape, at least.
