Chalkmisfit, it's a hydrotherapy tub where they put patients in and subjugate them to (I believe) very cold water, or some such thing. Motts would be the guy to ask about Hydrotherapy, as he probably knows more than I on the subject.
What a weird wheel chair! It looks so tall and gangly...like an awkward kid hitting puberty...or something of the sort.
..That or an old wheel chair. ;)
I wonder what type of patients would have been found in these chairs?
Yaggy's idea is definatly an amusing one, but I think maybe it was more along the lines of having the children have active imaginations?
If they were pretending to be sea captains and pirates, it would stimulate their minds into learning more, and possibly destract them from the grief of being in such a place and "not being normal".
Also, playing make believe would allow them to form friendships and make them feel not as alone.
Believing is seeing, after all. Somethings need to be believed to be seen.
And there is nothing more liberating (in my opinion) than being free on the open seas, able to control your own ship vessel, than being confined in the walls of a state school.
As ironic as this is going to seem, that was probably for security measures...you know, to make sure people were safe and not beating each other up in the showers?
Okay...maybe it isn't so ironic, but you know what I mean, eh?
I'll admit, Motts, it's not one of the prettiest locations on the outside, but I can't wait to see what wonders await us on the inside.
Maybe another one of your famous lonely chair photos?
Either way, I'm just so enthralled that you have new stuff up once again.
Yes, I'm even making my friend sit and watch as I browse the new masterpieces.
Cheers!
I slightly agree with 7728 and Max, but as well with the others.
It is sad that people have died in these places, and have been put in morgues.
But there's nothing wrong with making a clever comment. It's not ignorant.
Was making jokes about the "One Milk Only" sign ignorant? No? That's right. ;)
The thought of a children's morgue is kind of creepy though, I must admit. I find morgues so neat though.
