@ Prancer - yeah one zombie survivalist told me "locked doors work both ways" and I'd never thought about it until then.

Details like this really make me wonder about what the meaning is.

@ Erin - considering the history, it's almost certain. And vandals write in big black marker or spraypaint.

@ Northside - I could write a book's worth of testaments to tape companies. If the environment isn't damp you'd be amazed how long tape can hold.

Aw God...that is horrible. Like watching the movie "Balto" where the wolf sees the carpenter building a kid-sized coffin.

I'll make sure and hug my nieces/nephews next time they come to visit.

Yeeuuuugh. I have visions of something awful coming out of that...and if that is a 'grinder pump, the "eww" factor is 100x worse.

If you're ever back there Motts please do try to drag a bed over that so there's SOME kind of barrier/warning before you just take a wrong step and fall in. This is why you always look where you're going while urbexing and never ever go without adequate lighting.

Motts - you are wrong. There is a bunch of people my age who grew up with DOS and Windows 3.1 who would love to get old boxed software to digitally archive.

I spent quite some time making a working Win 3.1 "system" in Dosbox because I miss my first computer that much.

Motts, I love your "infinity perspective"-style photographs the best of all. You have that special way of catching contrast and distance to make those kinds of photos incredibly good. I am seriously envious.

Not to mention you have brass balls..."Entire hallways would light up as you walked down them, all motion sensor triggered." Yeek!

@ Larry D - did that actually happen to you personally???

Ugh. I have vertigo so bad that looking up at a structure like that makes me dizzy!!!

@ jessef - taking stuff is generally a nono in the urbexing code of honor, but if you really want it, just don't be seen entering or leaving the place and don't show off your new toy to anyone in that vicinity. (just in case some old-timer goes "hey, didn't that used to be in my school?")
