My mother in law was here. She tried to commit suicide and ended up there. She died sometime in the 70’s or 80’s. Do you know if The paperwork for this institute is stored anywhere?
Well I was brave enough to sneak in and there's a tunnel system under the whole place that no one can seem to go because everyone comes out running.. I went around one corner and it took me 2hours to find my way back.

For Sale?
Is this place extraordinarily beautiful?
Are the pictures exceptionally good & wonderful?
Is it all The lamps?
I really do not know. I return again and again....in awe, and find all so moving.

This image reminds me of the scene in "Girl Interupted" When Wynona Ryder's character and other patients stop their stretching exercises to watch from a fellow patient (Brittany Murphy's "Eat in Chicken" character) being discharged to go home.

Ohhh dear....yes....and the light-fixure is verdigris so must be copper?
Yes, concur, hayden - this Northwood Asylum really IS very special and ALL the pictures are great.....but my God does this get to me.........too.
Yes - floor collapsed....and The Lamp fell...it did not break. Weird, too.
Great shot - looks like the leafless tree is LEANING IN towards the window. It is not.
This must have been a very dark room when the tree had leaves.
