This looks like the 3rd floor porch.
I visited family on the 2nd floor of the B unit in the mid 1980's. Patients were there for 30 days. The first floor was for the patience that were long term.
My Father, Dr. William F. McLaughlin was the Superintendent until 1978. That photo was the front door to our supplied home. That balcony was outside my bedroom window. That was a 2 room three story home filled with treasures and artwork from the wealthy family who donated a portion of the land to the State as their daughter was mentally ill and they realized the need for social care. Any other photos of that building would be greatly appreciated if available for sale? bmclaug264@comccast.net

There was a female dormitory located behind admin, and then a male dormitory behind that.

Gaebler was located south of Met State on Trapelo Rd, near the baseball park (Rock Meadow Playground).
Admin buildings still stands, correct? Where was the gablers center located?
What were the other two buildings behind the admin building??
Where was the gablers children center located??
I see from old pictures the administration building (still there I assume) and then 2 buildings behind it, obviously not there now. But what were those two other buildings??
I was an attendant at MSH in 1968. It was only 6mod. The final straw came when I was told to accompany a teenager to electric shock therapy. I stood at her side as they hooked her up and put a bit in her mouth. I watched as her body contorted. She was unresponsive for a time after the procedure. When she came to she was given juice. It didn't change anything about her. I was horrified and done. I quit soon after.

I was sentenced to Met State for 35 days observation Judge Mcleod of Chelsea Municipal court in 1963 for acting up in Carter school (constantly wearing dungarees to school, not allowed in those days) In the seven days I was there I witnessed a suicide, was attacked by a knife-wielding maniac and chased around by a 15-year-old Nymphomaniac, and looked in solitary confinement for my own protection. After that experience, I was sent home with a clean bill of mental health. ???????????

Looks like a containment breach. Remain where you are, Memetic Amnesiacs will be administered shortly
