I have to agree with Bobo and Julanne. They definitely look like the correct sized bells to be call bells.
I thought it might be an escape hatch hidden in the laundry room that the patients made over the years. I wonder if any of them got to use it? I hear people got really bored in those asylums after a while. Or, perhaps, the staff built the escape hatch so they could escape the stress of the place! : ) ...Just Kidding!
I have my usual comment regarding scrappers, but I'll keep it short this time: Grrrrrr!!! : (
Hi, everybody! I'm ba-a-ack! My husband & I have been busy moving around Florida....Amyway, I thought this shot was kinda pretty, Motts. That is, in a strange kind of way. I think the perspective is great!

Looks like it might be a call bell. I know at one time, there were actual pull cords that ran to bells when people needed something. I am not sure when intercoms replaced them.
Great gallery Mr. Motts, thanks.
Paintball heaven, until a running person turns a corner and falls through the floor :-(.
What a fantastic brain to realize a shot like this, most people would walk by the weeds. This is a very unique photo - wonderful.
Fabulous a new gallery, and one of my favourite subjects - hospitals.
This would make a good Opacity Christmas Card.

(Rusty Bells... Rusty Bells, it's Christmas time in the la-bra-tory.... )

The last word is "Thug," though I can't make out the first. I can make out an "s," "u," "h," and "z." I think the letter before the z is a g, but I don't know.
You having a flashback there Tony? :)
