HOLY CROW! That's making me head spin! Fantastic how it gives you a sense of smallness but I wonder how in God's name did they wash those windows or paint the ceiling?!
I always liked the back areas of a church, with the narrow stairways and passages, and small rooms tucked away behind something else. It always made me feel like I was in another time for some reason.
ashes to ashes, dust to dust, it's a shame this "House of the Lord" is rotting away.
For some reason I hate seeing churches left to decay. There's one nearby that I'm just itching to get into. It's a magnificent building and the doors are boarded up, but not the windows. Given it's location, I'm surprised they're not smashed out. Thanks for the new gallery, now I can end my miserable week on a high note!
I agree with Bob. There's something about old movie theaters that I just love and can't get enough of. Especially the room with the projection equipment is what I love the most. I'm glad to see they're restoring more of them rather than tear them down. There was one in Schenectady NY called Proctors that, like most others, fell into disuse probably in the late 1970s or 80's but they restored this one and it's magnificent! They have all kinds of shows there now along with running movies on it's giant screen. I miss the old theaters that had the 30' x 90' CinemaScope screen, now they're all chppped up into little screens. For someone that's never seen a true CinemaScope picture on a REAL wide screen, you haven't lived.
Yes, thank you! I have a hard time deciding which I like better, the industrial locations or the hospitals. It's very tough to decide especially with your magnificent photographs.
Like that red dot would keep anyone out.
This building looks like it belongs in Greece (except for the snow)
They sure knew how to build things back then. Even industrial plants had a grandeur look to them.
I agree. Turn it into a museum, it already has the look.
A little Ajax and elbo grease and I could move right in!
Looks like a missile silo
This is so cool. I want to go here.
All these wires, switches and connections all had a purpose, now they just sit dormant.
It's hard to see but that isn't the same desk there is it? I sure could have some fun poking around this place!
