Death the great equalizer. Many of our homes may look like this some day. Abandoned. Forgotten. Lost. Life is for the living.
I THINK ITS VERY UNFAIR IF YOU SPEAK YOUR MIND ESPECIALLY WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S STUPID COMMENT PERTAINING YOU WITHOUT GETTING TO HARSH OR OUT OF HAND THAT YOU ARE TAKING OFF, MOTTS? DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE? I THOUGHT THIS WAS FREE SPEACH TO EXPRESS YOURSELF,YOUR THOUGHTS.YOUR EXPERIENCES,HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR PLACE? FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION,YEAH RIGHT!!!

They are pic! And beautiful ones at that!! Mott I believe you could put these in a book and sell them! I would buy it! I love the way they make me feel when I look at them. It has nothing to do with exploiting tragedy. Its art buddy!

I WENT THERE THIS PAST WEEKEND TO SEE THE PLACE AT NIGHT WITH FRIENDS AND I FELT SO BAD AND SAD,HOW CAN YOU TREAT PEOPLE THIS WAY? I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY ARE PATIENTS CHARTS LAYING ALL OVER THE FLOORS WITH THERE PERSONAL INFO.ON THEM? ONE CHART READS IS WHY ARE THEY FINDING BRUISES ON THIS PATIENTS BODY? EMPLOYERS PAYSTUBS WITH THERE SOCIAL SECURITY NO.ON IT ECT...I DID NOT FEEL SCARED THERE WE WERE THERE FOR OVER 3 HRS,AND ALL I FELT WAS SADDNESS!!! THAT PLACE NEEDS TO BE BLESSED BY A PRIEST AND LET THOSE POOR SOULS REST IN PEACE.MY ONLY QUESTION IS DID THE DOCTERS AND THE STAFF EVER GET IN TROUBLE FOR THE CRUEL ACTS PUT ON THOSE PATIENTS??? THANKS TO GERALDO RIVERA GOING THERE IN 1972 UNDERCOVER HE HAD THAT HELLHOLE CLOSED DOWN EVENTUALLY AND WON A PEABODY AWARD.THAT PLACE IS NOT A JOKE!!! PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT HAVING SEX THERE,GROW THE FUCK UP,WHAT IF YOU HAD A LOVED ONE THERE? HAVE SOME LOVE IN YOUR HEART,TORTURE AND BEING RAPED AND BEING BEATEN AND BEING COVERED IN YOUR OWN FECES AND BEING STARVED AND BEING OPERATED ON WHILE YOUR AWAKE IS NOT FUNNY...DO SOME MORE RESEARCH ON LETCHWORTH!! O AND I WOULD NOT GO BACK UNTIL YOU FINALLY MATURE!!!
Picture we put up in Bldg 23 Ward 3; the female surgical unit. Every time Joint Commission would come for accreditation we would get painted, get new curtains, bedspreads, etc...this picture was put up in the late 70s maybe 1979.
Graduated from Pilgrim School of Nursing in 1977 (last class). What a great school and an awesome place to work...worked in Bldg 23 the Med/Surg Unit for 15 years and became Nurse Administrator. Sad to see it so desolate; it was so vital once. So many memories I couldn't even begin to tell you. From the classrooms to the dorms in the Nurse's Circle to the morgue to the lab to the underground tunnels to the cemetery to the train station...so much happening. From lobotomies to ECT to chemotherapy; what changes. I remember Pilgrim from 1956 when I lived on Harrison Street in Brentwood and we would steal the vegetables from the farm and then I attended the Nursing Progrram...what an education; not enough money to pay for that kind of training. So SAD to see its demise.
Every ones talks about horsepower, but for one moment just think of the day this beast was working in the hull of some large ship and a dedicated engineer was walking around keeping it turning over. You can almost see him now.
